FEAR part 2…

Sorry folks, it has been busy. Here is the final part to our posts on FEAR…
FEAR…it was placed in all of us for one reason; to keep our sorry asses alive.
So if we use it as it was intended, it is good. During my over training phase, I had a double whammy take place.
1. I was afraid of losing results, kept training.
2. I ignored the fear of injury, kept training.
Now, seriously, my diet has somewhat tanked for my standards and I have no way to keep pace with it. The weight is lighter now and almost all upper body specific movements have ceased. So yeah, that is a recipe for total loss. But it is only a temporary set back, instead of a long term injury. I was able to LISTEN to the fear.
In a sense, fear fu**ed me…good.
You ever had a ‘gut feeling’? Well, it was probably right. Did you know your stomach has the most brain communicators in the whole body? Second to the brain itself of course… Bet you also didn’t know that when you over consume sugar…you destroy those receptors.
Fear; Feed your kids well, it could make them smarter…or dumber.
Anyhow….back to the story at hand, FEAR. You can call this type of fear, instinct. Use it, listen to your body. If your body fears, you’ll feel it…do not ignore it. Your body is your best friend. Sometimes, we abuse relationships.
Ignore your best friend, and you’ll know you have neglected…. it’ll get fat. Overwhelm your best pal, and it’ll tell you to go away…in the form of an injury. You and your best bud….you need to be in tune with each other. Some days, you’ll have to FEAR losing results…and just do the workout with no mental drive. Some days, you will have to just contain all the energy because it’s a rest day.
My issue was; mentally, I was a lion…physically, I was a wounded lion. Neither one can be ignored, but sometimes, one has to override the other.
It has already been proven by science, we are not re-inventing the wheel here, folks.
But…once you are disciplined enough, science takes a back seat to the relationship with your body. It’s your best friend. Relationships do not last without communication…and mutual respect.
Fear. Use it as a tool.
That’s what God intended it to be in the first place.
