Happy Thanksgiving…THANKSGIVING, it is NOT Turkey Day.
So, what am I thankful for? Well, lets skip all the fake obvious, family, friends, health, yada yada. That’s obvious and if you’re not thankful for it, you have issues that run much deeper than mine.
First off, I am thankful I can write this. I am thankful for your interest in reading it. I am thankful I fight the fight with passion and choose not to mope through life lethargic and going with the flow. I am thankful that I am a warrior.

Repeat; I am a fuc**ng WARRIOR, my body is my soul. My soul is my body, they act as one. Without my body I have nothing. Without my soul, I have even less. I am a warrior.
I vomit at the thought of inactivity. I cringe at the idea of a machine and a cable workout. Then on the other hand, I risked by over doing. I was stupid by not rotating rest, even less smart by not consuming nearly enough water.
Who is to blame? Me. Beastola. Mike. I did it to myself.

Not normal.
I’m a trainer, right? I should know better… Like I said, do as I say…not as I do, or did. I am not saying the killing fields are closed. Rather, I am saying it is time I started acting like a responsible person and taking better care of my body. The very thing I love so dearly and has brought me so much joy, and now sadness…is what I neglected. No more.
I now have rules, which are in FULL FORCE come beastmas09.
1. Rest: There will be planned rest days. Light activity such as; bike rides, walks, light body weight routine, jacuzzi and ice days, and just get more sleep on others.
Part A) Even if the beastola is screaming for a killing, when it is time to rest…we do the prescribed WOD that was planned with a clear mind.
Part B) Sleep. This will be tough, but I will not put myself in a position that will require less than 6 hours of sleep. Basically, I will have a set bed time and will stick to it.
2. Proper Stretching: If I don’t have enough time to warm up or stretch, I have to cut my workout time in order to do it. Other new recovery methods will be put into place as well. As we age, and still wanna killlit! we must continue to get wiser. I said wiser, not ‘wussier’.
Part A & B) Just a complete overhaul. Active recovery days focused on stretching.
3. Last but not least….so SIMPLE….Water: Currently, I am about 180lbs. I will consume 3 liters per day, or 100 oz approximately.
Part A) No coffee refill until the first 1.5 liter bottle has been consumed.
Part B) 50 oz will be consumed during and immediately after my workouts.
I am ashamed to admit I have issues with water consumptions. I make excuses, but I am changing it. And for that, I am thankful.
